Taxonomy
Protomauroania mikhailovi was named by Tshernyshev and Perkovsky (2021). Its type specimen is SIZK L-589, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Rovno Amber, Voronki locality (SIZK L collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Ukraine.
