Stevenscamelus franki

Taxonomy
Poebrotherium franki was named by Wilson (1974). Its type locality is Airstrip (TMM 40504), which is in a Chadronian terrestrial horizon in the Capote Mountain Tuff Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Stevenscamelus.

It was recombined as Stevenscamelus franki by Prothero et al. (2023).

D. R. Prothero 1996Smallest species of Poebrotherium (length Ml-3 = 28-29 mm). Elongate rostrum with simple, equal-sized bladelike 11-3 and canine, and no diastema. P3 with no lingual cingulum or cusp.

I1-3 are small and leaflike; I3 and I2 are the same size. Very small upper canine. Double rooted P1, and P2-4 very small. Quadrate brachydont upper molars, with bulbous selenodont cusps, and wide prominent styles, ribs, cingula, and intercolumnar tubercles. Inflated auditory bulla. Very slender, elongated mandible. Relatively small p2-4, and the p4 is as long as the p3. The m1 is brachydont with bulbous cusps. Symphysis ends beneath p2.]
