Taxonomy
Mesypochrysa nielseni was named by Makarkin and Perkovsky (2023). Its type specimen is MGUH 34285, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Ejerslev Molergrav, Mors, between layers +25 and +30 , which is in a Ypresian offshore ramp diatomite/volcaniclastic in the Fur Formation of Denmark.
