Taxonomy
Temnotropis maestroettorei was named by Monari and Dellantonio (2024). Its type specimen is MCP1129, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sample V1F, Viezzena Mountain, which is in an Illyrian slope grainstone in the Sciliar Formation of Italy.
