Holkopollenites propinquus

Taxonomy
Holkopollenites propinquus was named by Christopher and Prowell (2010). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide FLO-274@583.0’(1); coordinates 16.3 x 141.6; Fig. 13H–K., a microspore, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS - Lake City, 583.0 ft, which is in a Campanian marine sandstone in the Sheperd Grove Formation of South Carolina.

R. A. Christopher and D. C. Prowell 2010A species of Holkopollenites with a triangular amb and straight sides, nexine thicker than sexine, channels incised on the inner surface of the nexine are oriented parallel to the sides of the amb, and an equatorial diameter of 19–24 µm.
