Taxonomy
Squiresica plana was named by Kiel et al. (2023). Its type specimen is NRM Mo 204704, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Canyon River gravel bar, which is in an Oligocene marine limestone in the Lincoln Creek Formation of Washington.
