Zlichovaspis (Zlichovaspis) rugosa

Taxonomy
Odontochile rugosa was named by Hawle and Corda (1847) [Lectotype. Designated Snajdr (1984);]. Its type specimen is NML 18379, a cephalon/head, and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Zlichovaspis, Zlichovaspis (Zlichovaspis).

It was corrected as Odontochile rugosum by Alberti (1969); it was recombined as Zlichovaspis rugosa by Pribyl and Vanek (1971); it was recombined as Zlichovaspis (Zlichovaspis) rugosa by Budil et al. (2009).

(Zlichovaspis) with these characteristic features: cephalon moderately subtriangular, length/ width index approximately 0·55; anterior cephalic border with prominent concave (sag.) precranial median process; eyes with lenses arranged in 48–55 dorsoventral files of up 10–12 lenses each; thoracic and pygidial pleural furrows deep, flatbottomed; pygidium rounded subtriangular, length/width index approximately 0·7; axis with 16–18 rings plus subtriangular terminal piece; postaxial ridge vaulted, crossing border furrow; mucro robust and long; 13–14(15) pleural furrows; anterior pleural bands strongly vaulted, inflated distally above inner margin of doublure; posterior pleural bands vaulted; whole exoskeleton excluding apodemal pits covered by dense granules, coarsest on axial rings (especially their posterolateral parts) and postaxial region; pleural furrows very densely granulated.
