Douglassarachne acanthopoda
Taxonomy
Douglassarachne acanthopoda was named by Selden and Dunlop (2024). Its type specimen is FMNH PE 91366, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pit 15, Northern Mine tip, which is in a Westphalian D terrestrial shale in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois. It is the type species of Douglassarachne.
