| D. E. White and S. Yang 2003 | Encrusting, irregular, nodular coralla with corallites opening obliquely to calicular surface. In early growth stages of corallum, corallites polygonal to roundedpolygonal in outline, with coenenchyme consisting of tubules and vesicles (cystilaminae and eucystoliths, respectively, of Bondarenko & Minzhin 1980) well developed, incompletely surrounding corallites. In later growth stages, corallites rounded and stellate in transverse section, totally surrounded by coenenchyme. Tabulae mainly complete and horizontal throughout ontogeny. Septal spines irregularly developed, usually distally deflected. |
