It was recombined as Dama hemionus by Hall and Kelson (1959); it was recombined as Odocoileus hemionus by Schultz and Howard (1935), Kurten and Anderson (1980), Morgan and Rinehart (2007) and Agnarsson and May-Collado (2008).
