Originally Eporeodon (Oreodontoides) oregonensis
Taxonomy
Eporeodon (Oreodontoides) oregonensis was named by Thorpe (1921). Its type specimen is YPM 12329, a partial skull (Partial skull with I1(br.)-M3 (I3, P4, and M1 br.)), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Merychyus oregonensis by Loomis (1924); it was recombined as Oreodontoides oregonensis by Thorpe (1924), Thorpe (1937), Schultz and Falkenbach (1947), Schultz and Falkenbach (1949), Stevens and Stevens (2007), Stevens et al. (2023).
