Urbacodon norelli

Taxonomy
Urbacodon norelli was named by Wang et al. (2024) [Zoobank LSID: urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:287C9EB6-B824-4FDA-A46A-70019E0B750B.]. Its type specimen is LH PV38, a mandible (with associated teeth), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Iren Nor, 25 km NE Erenhot, which is in a Campanian/Campanian fluvial siliciclastic in the Iren Dabasu Formation of China.

Wang et al. 2024"A troodontid distinguished from Urbacodon itemirensis in having a unique combination of features: the presence of two dentary symphyseal foramina (character 302:1), the anterior and ventral margins of the dentary meeting below the 2nd dentary alveolus (624:0), the absence of a dentary chin (625:0), the presence of a common groove hosting the anterior12 closely-packed dentary teeth, and the presence of relatively larger dentary teeth."
