Taxonomy
Osbornodon renjiei was named by Wang (1994). Its type specimen is F:AM 63316, a partial skull (maxillary and mandible fragments), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dickinson Member (Woodland), which is in an Orellan terrestrial horizon in the Brule Formation of North Dakota.
