Paleotomus senior

Taxonomy
Palaeosinopa senior was named by Simpson (1937). Its type specimen is AMNH 33990, a tooth (isolated m3), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Scarritt Quarry, which is in a Tiffanian terrestrial horizon in the Melville Formation of Montana.

It was recombined as Paleotomus senior by Van Valen (1967), Gingerich (1980), Krause and Gingerich (1983) and Scott et al. (2002).
