Taxonomy
Cryptophilus karinae was named by Lyubarsky et al. (2024). Its type specimen is NHMD-620235, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (ZMUC/NHMD collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
