Taxonomy
Blatta elongata was named by Giebel (1856). It is an impression. Its type locality is Durlston Bay, Middle Purbeck, Swanage (Brodie collection), which is in a Berriasian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Durlston Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Mesoblattina elongata by Scudder (1886); it was considered a nomen dubium by Heer (1864); it was recombined as Elisama elongata by Swaby et al. (2024).
