Taxonomy
Acanthophyllum filiforme was named by Coen-Aubert (2017). It is not extant. Its type specimen is IRScNB a13143. Its type locality is Lower Coral Beds (unit 87) of Sougy, which is in a Givetian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Cabrieroceras Limestone Formation of Mauritania.
