Taxonomy
Macgeea tourneuri was named by Coen-Aubert (2017). Its type specimen is IRScNB a13160 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Samples 2389 & 2391 of Sougy, unit 91, sec. F6 of Amgli el Harra & Amgli Zguilma, which is in a Givetian deep subtidal shelf siltstone in the Cabrieroceras Limestone Formation of Mauritania.
