Taxonomy
Micromeryx azanzae was named by Sánchez and Morales (2008). Its type specimen is MPZ 2006/432, , a mandible (ight hemimandible with complete tooth row), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Toril 3, which is in a MN 7 + 8 terrestrial horizon in Spain.
