Taxonomy
Saxatilomys paulinae was named by Musser et al. (2005). It is extant. Its type specimen is BMNH 2000.292, a skeleton. Its type locality is Mauang and Ban Day, which is in a Holocene terrestrial horizon in Laos. It is the type species of Saxatilomys.
