Taxonomy
Grus pagei was named by Campbell (1995). Its type specimen is LACM F735, a partial skull (partial cranium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rancho La Brea, Pit A (LACMIP 88), which is in a Rancholabrean tar tar in California.
