Taxonomy
Tragoportax macedoniensis was named by Bouvrain (1988). It is not extant. Its type specimen is LGPUT DTK 53 , a partial skull. Its type locality is Dytiko-1, which is in the Turolian of marl/sandstone the Dytiko Formation Greece.
It was recombined as Miotragocerus macedoniensis by Shi and Zhang (2023).
