Pelycodus jarrovii

Taxonomy
Prototomus jarrovii was named by Cope (1874) [sometimes incorrectly given as 1877]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Arroyo Blanco (Cope), which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the San Jose Formation of New Mexico. It is the type species of Pelycodus.

It was recombined as Tomitherium jarrovii by Cope (1877); it was recombined as Pelycodus jarrovii by Cope (1875), Osborn (1902), Hay (1902), Matthew (1915), Simpson (1951), Gazin (1958), Gingerich and Simons (1977), Gingerich and Haskin (1981), Gunnell (1998).
