Taxonomy
Complexiopollis exigua was named by Christopher (1979). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Plate 8, figs. 1, 2 (slide 1, coordinates 24.4 x 95.4), a microspore, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is R1011B, which is in a Turonian/Coniacian pond siliciclastic in the Raritan Formation of New Jersey.
