Taxonomy
Paronychomys woodburnei was named by Martin (2008). It is not extant. Its type specimen is UWBM 57789, a maxilla (maxilla with M1-M3). Its type locality is Westend Blowout, which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial sandstone/tuff in the Alkali Canyon Formation of Oregon.
