Taxonomy
Megamonodontium mccluskyi was named by McCurry et al. (2024). Its type specimen is AM F.145559, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is McGraths Flat, which is in a Miocene pond siderite in Australia. It is the type species of Megamonodontium.
