Taxonomy
Phrynus luisdearmasi was named by Dunlop and Bartel (2025). Its type specimen is MfN MB.A.1747, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (MfN coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
