Bohlenia americana
Taxonomy
Dipteronia americana was named by Brown (1935) [Circumscribed originally to include both leaves and fruits ]. Its type specimen is USNM P38094, a leaf (leaves), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Republic Locality 8428, which is in a Lutetian/Bartonian lacustrine horizon in the Klondike Mountain Formation of Washington. It is the type species of Bohlenia.
It was recombined as Bohlenia americana by Wolfe and Wehr (1987).
