Miniochoerus forsythae
Taxonomy
Merycoidodon forsythae was named by Schultz and Falkenbach (1968). Its type specimen is F:AM 72303, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Flagstaff Rim IV, which is in a Chadronian terrestrial horizon in the White River Formation of Wyoming.
It was synonymized subjectively with Prodesmatochoerus natronensis by Lander (1998); it was recombined as Miniochoerus forsythae by Stevens and Stevens (1996), Stevens and Stevens (2007).

Falkenbach 1954 (Prodesmatochoerus natronensis) | SKULL: Smaller than in examples of P. meekae; brain case suggests slightly more rounded contour than in that species (only available specimen incomplete) ; infraorbital foramen above anterior portion of P4 ; occipital condyles more widely spread than in P. meekae; bulla very small (minute), similar to examples of P. meekae; postglenoid process more robust than in P. meekae.
