Rallus adolfocaesaris (Porto Santo rail)
Taxonomy
Rallus adolfocaesaris was named by Alcover et al. (2015). Its type specimen is MMF 43444, a set of limb elements (right tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Porto dos Frades, Porto Santo, which is in a Pleistocene/Holocene eolian sandstone in Portugal.
