Rallus carvaoensis (São Miguel rail)
Taxonomy
Rallus carvaoensis was named by Alcover et al. (2015). Its type specimen is MCMa 1801.013, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gruta do Carvão, São Miguel Island, which is in a Holocene cave siliciclastic in Portugal.
