| Q. Jiangzuo et al. 2024 | Diagnosis. Medium-sized Cernictis. Cranium low, withnearly straight dorsal profile. Postorbital process offrontal weak, and postorbital constriction elongated.Braincase expanded. The mandibular corpus is relativedeep and robust. P4 with a narrow protocone. Differential diagnosis. Differs from C. hesperus and C.repenningi by having larger m1 metaconid and smallersize. Differs from C. repenningi by having smaller m1talonid. Differs from C. lufengensis by having slightlylarger size, better developed p3 and p4 accessory cus-pids, and narrower P4 protocone. |
