Protoprocyon savagei
Taxonomy
Protoprocyon savagei was named by Linares (1981). Its type specimen is F:AM 25210, a mandible (right ramus with p2-m2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East Clayton Quarry, which is in a Clarendonian/Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in the Ash Hollow Formation of Nebraska. It is the type species of Protoprocyon.
