Welwitschiella austroamericana
Taxonomy
Welwitschiella austroamericana was named by Dilcher et al. (2005). It is not extant. Its type specimen is "Murilo Rodolfo de Lima" Collection, Universidade de São Paulo, GP/3E-7529, an axis. Its type locality is Crato ("Murilo Rodolfo de Lima" collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil. It is the type species of Welwitschiella.
