Altaiophyllum was named by Ivaniya (1955) [Sepkoski's age data: D Give-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Streptelasmatinae by Hill (1981); to Amplexidae by Chen et al. (1997); and to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002).
