Taxonomy
Mesochorista tillyardi was named by Lian and Huang (2025). Its type specimen is NIGP205288, an exoskeleton (forewing), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Houdong, Yinping Mountain, SW Chaohu City, which is in a Capitanian marine shale in the Yinping Formation of China.
