Taxonomy
Sphaerium (Amesoda) nevadense was named by Taylor and Smith (1981). Its type specimen is UMMZ 25010, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mopung Hills locality B, which is in a Pliocene lacustrine limestone in the Truckee Formation of Nevada.
