Taxonomy
Stenomylus crassipes was named by Loomis (1910). Its type specimen is AC 2150, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Agate (8 Miles NE), which is in a Harrisonian terrestrial horizon in the Harrison Formation of Nebraska.
It was recombined as Stenomylus (Stenomylus) crassipes by Cassiliano (2008).
