Taxonomy
Daphoenodon minor was named by Hunt (2009). Its type specimen is YPM-PU 11554, a mandible (Complete left mandible with c (worn), p2-m3, p1 root, and alveoli for i1-3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Van Tassell Creek, which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in the Harrison Formation of Wyoming.
