Poinarinius zhubajie was named by Lin et al. (2026). Its type specimen is LWHP202502, an exoskeleton (body), and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber, Kachin amber (Wei Lin LW collection), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar.
