Wyonycteris chalix
Taxonomy
Wyonycteris chalix was named by Gingerich (1987) [genotype; said to be a bat, but this is rejected by Hand et al. 1994]. Its type specimen is UM 76910, a mandible (right dentary with P4, M1 (part), and M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Discovery Site, which is in an Eocene wet floodplain wackestone in the Willwood Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Wyonycteris.
