Taxonomy
Chihsiaphyllum was named by Minato and Kato (1965) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon-l P Leon-u]. Its type is Corwenia chihsiaensis.

It was assigned to Waagenophyllinae by Minato and Kato (1965), Hill (1981); and to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002).
