Endamplexus was named by Koker (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: P Guad-u]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Endamplexidae.
It was assigned to Cyathopsidae by Hill (1956); to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Endamplexidae by Hill (1981) and Wang et al. (2006).
