Megaloceros luochuanensis was named by Xue (1982) [A skull with complete left antler and right brow tine (62LMO15).]. Its type locality is Heimugou, Q2, lower part, Luochuan, which is in a Pleistocene loess lime mudstone/mudstone in China.
