Archaeotypotherium pattersoni
Taxonomy
Archaeotypotherium pattersoni was named by Croft et al. (2003) [SGOPV 2917 (right mandible bearing p2-m3) is likely from the same individual]. Its type specimen is SGOPV 2918, right maxilla bearing P2-M3, a maxilla. Its type locality is Tinguiririca Locality Sets 1 & 2, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial volcaniclastic in the Abanico Formation of Chile.
