It was replaced with Carbonicolidae by Cox (1932).
It was assigned to Anthracosiacea by Newell (1965), Vokes (1980); to Nyassioidea by Nevesskaja (2009); and to Anthracosioidea by Bouchet et al. (2010), Carter et al. (2011).
