Taxonomy
Parahughmilleria was named by Kjellesvig-Waering (1961) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-m D Emsi Sepkoski's reference number: 360,1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Parahughmilleria salteri. It is the type genus of Parahughmilleriidae.

It was assigned to Eurypterida by Kjellesvig-Waering (1961), Sepkoski (2002); to Adelophthalmidae by Dunlop et al. (2013), Dunlop et al. (2020); and to Parahughmilleriidae by Lamsdell (2025).
