Eoplatanista gresalensis

Taxonomy
Cyrtodelphis gresalensis was named by Dal Piaz (1916). Its type specimen is IGUP 26 154, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Libano, which is in an Aquitanian marine sandstone in the Libano Sandstone Formation of Italy.

It was recombined as Schizodelphis gresalensis by Pilleri (1985); it was recombined as Zignodelphis gresalensis by Pilleri (1989); it was recombined as Eoplatanista gresalensis by Muizon (1988), Bianucci and Landini (2002), Fornasiero and Del Vavero (2014).

Synonyms
  • Schizodelphis yablokovi was named by Pilleri (1985). Its type specimen is IGUP 26 254, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Libano, which is in an Aquitanian marine sandstone in the Libano Sandstone Formation of Italy.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Eoplatanista gresalensis by Muizon (1988); it was recombined as Zignodelphis yablokovi by Pilleri (1989).
