Stokesosaurus clevelandi
Taxonomy
Stokesosaurus clevelandi was named by Madsen (1974) [type also numbered UMNH VP 7434]. Its type specimen is UUVP 2938, a set of postcrania, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry, which is in a Tithonian pond mudstone/lime mudstone in the Morrison Formation of Utah. It is the type species of Stokesosaurus.
It was recombined as Iliosuchus clevelandi by Galton (1976).
