Atocetus nasalis

Taxonomy
Pithanodelphis nasalis was named by Barnes (1985). Its type specimen is LACM 30093 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACM 5077, which is in a Tortonian marginal marine horizon in the Monterey Formation of California.

It was recombined as Atocetus nasalis by Muizon (1988), Ichishima et al. (1995), Dawson (1996), Uhen et al. (2008), Geisler et al. (2011) and Peredo et al. (2018).
